Remember with a yagi antenna it is the area within the bounds of the main forward lobe where maximum exposure could potentially occur. It is important therefore to know the likely EIRP on the chosen beam heading!Entering the calculated EIRP into OFCOM's emfcalculator it is then possible to establish the safe separation distance, and if this can be achieved at a particular station location?Duty cycle and length of time of exposure also need to be considered to mitigate. As an example consider a transmitter with a maximum EIRP of 8KW, a duty factor of 50%, and a maximum percentage of time transmitting of 50%, then we can calculate an average power of 2KW (8,000 Watts x 50% x 50% = 2,000 Watts).
